p. 41. “An early C19 castellated house of two storeys. Symmetrical front; slender round turrets at sides; battlemented parapet, porch. Now a ruin. The embattled stable and outbuildings survive. Built by Cornelius O’Brien, MP, who was responsible for O’Brien’s lookout tower on the Cliffs of Moher nearby. A monument surmounted by an urn to his memory, with a lengthy inscription stands on the road to the north of the house.”
