p. 97. “(Chartres/IFR) A two storey three bay house with quoins, said to have been originally built ca 1699-1700. Two storey five bay wing of rubble with limestone dressings. The windows are said to have been altered ca 1820-30 by Captain William Chartres; and the house was re-roofed at the beginning of C20. Outer and inner halls paved in stone; C18 doorcases and alcoves; staircase with finely turned balusters. Sold 1900.”
